这首歌可以说是PUNK史上划时代的巨作。从1994年创作至今，风靡不尽。艾薇儿也翻唱过。在加盟Reprise公司之后，1994年初，Green Day乐队发行了第三张专辑，也是他们主流公司的首张专辑《Dookie》。由于第二支单曲《Basket Case》的连续推动，这张专辑成为了整个1994年的一个现象，这首单曲成为了现代摇滚单曲榜的冠军，而此后在大名鼎鼎的Woodstock音乐节上的精彩演出，以及第三首冠军单曲《When I Come Around》推出之后，Green Day乐队的这张《Dookie》风靡美国，继而蔓延全球。
